Hand Grabs Water [1996]
A single-channel video installation in the form of a ball of spanish moss. The four minute loop displays a short video poem of a filling and draining of a sink. Water fills the sink, a hand reaches in to open the drain, and the sink drains. Accompanying audio magnifies the white-noise-like sounds of water running and draining. The video on the top of the ball is visible only at a close proximity, looking nearly straight down on the object, while the slightly ambiguous audio fills the gallery.
